New Years Groceries!
Wow, what a busy year full of challenges and opportunity. Not to mention the halfway point of our first year in existence! We had planned to sponsor a family this Christmas and after talks with our local school we actually developed the gesture into something bigger and got our local grocery store to step up to sponsor three families! We were happy to step aside and let that kindness flow as we wait for this other opportunity to develop. In the meantime we thought it would be fun to head back to where we started this journey so we popped out to make it happen. This time we cashed in four hundred dollars worth of Bitcoin and grabbed a bunch of gift cards for an evening of kindness. I have to admit, I had quite a bit of butterflies as my daughter and I sat down to plan our attack! I think we just sat there for 20 odd minutes before we stepped up. Fortunately it didn’t take long to hit our stride again and we touched quite a few hearts along the way. I really had a blast hanging our with my girl and meeting some locals. I also got a chance to think about how we can improve our systems of transparency during the excitement. There should be a stronger effort to recover more receipts from the transactions as verification. I will work on a better system as we move forward. That being said, it was a wonderful way to kick off 2019 and we really enjoyed meeting all those people. Hopefully they stay alert for ways to pay it forward as the year progresses.
Speaking of 2019 we have a goal of ten thousand dollars worth of digital currency raised for #RandomActsOfKindness this year. We ended 2018 with just over four thousand spent in four months so we think this is a reasonable growth level to achieve. Thank you to each and every one of you, the donors and the recipients.
