When our friends over at 10Grans decided to have a little pizza party on Discord I thought, that would be a fun way to encourage some engagement on Twitter and maybe hand out a few pies as #RandomActsOfKindness. With this Rona Birus going around people could use a free pizza to lift some spirits. Right? Boy is it hard to give away a few pizzas with only 300 odd people following our account. No engagement yet again despite reaching out to multiple Discord groups along with Twitter DMs and tweets. I even tweeted out to the 1060 I have under my personal account. It gets frustrating, not gonna lie, I think everyone thinks there is some sort of scam. Did get some welcoming replies from our loyal followers though which always makes our day. Your support is so kind.
Interestingly enough I came across Bill Plutes tweets and he happened to be running the same campaign as we were. I found it kinda weird but also an excellent opportunity to stalk his replies and try to complete our mission. First up was Tana who was looking to grab a pie for her bar-tending friend @FoodyFantastic. Looking forward to the pics you two, what a kind gesture!
As the evening progressed our #PizzaParty was hijacked by the Snarg01 crew! They tried to re-brand our night into a #BeetParty and we thought they closed out the party till 10Grans came back the next day with a final entry! It tipped the thread back in pizzas favor. A close call to say the least but maybe another opportunity to try one more time? Could this actually work? Along came Mike who tried to claim it but he was just out of range for our Papa Johns GC unfortunately. We decided to try for someone who lived closer to a location..
A short time later as I was gearing up for a Decentral Land giveaway I kept thinking about Mikes distance issues. I decided to grab one more $25 dollar Gift Card for Dominos and hooked him up. We are down to our last few bucks and I figured why not. He seemed kinda disappointed about just missing out, I get it, happens to me all the time. Enjoy that pie as well my friend, looking forward to your pic too.
